Last week Olivia Rodrigo made an announcement about her new tour that starts in February of 2024.
To be able to buy the ticket for the concert they had everyone join a cue. Ticketmaster made it so everyone who got in would most likely be able to buy the tickets. The rest of the people were put into a waitlist to see if there is a possible way there would be leftover tickets.
She would be performing 11 new songs in her album guts and possibly some songs from her last album sour. ‘
The performers opening for her during her tour are The Breeders, Chappell Roan, Pinkpanthress, and Remi Wolf.
Many people have been complaining about the prices of the tickets for the tour and comparing them to the prices for Taylor Swift.
Taylors prices ranged from 200-400 dollars for the floor seats but the price for floor seats at Olivia’s concert were almost 1000 dollars.
“The Olivia tickets were so expensively priced,” said Ayden Aronofsky, freshman.
The tickets, even though they were expensive, have sold out in all the stadiums and are getting re-sold on many other websites. The websites that are re-selling the tickets are overpricing them even more than the original prices.
On September 15 Olivia added 18 new dates to the tour and they were added to the east coast shows and international dates.
There has been merchandise sold for her new album GUTS at select targets and at some targets they have special events and they play her music.
There are many people already planning their outfits for the concert and are trying to recreate outfits that she has worn or from her music videos.
Many people that I know have gotten tickets and are just as excited to go as anyone else. I personally have not gotten tickets to the concert since I was wait listed and the resale prices are very expensive right now. Although once the pricing is lower, I do plan on buying tickets to her concert for the Miami date.
