There are thousands of people in the world that listen to and relate to Rod Wave. 

Rod Wave is mostly known for his incorporation of hip-hop with R&B, and his music can be described as soul-trap.

Though there are many who love him, there are also many who would skip every song that he plays relating to him. 

“I do not like Rod because I can’t get into his music. I hate his voice because it sounds like a 6-year-old sound cloud rapper, and his music sounds like he is just talking on top of a track.” says Akira Edmond, Sophomore “Although he is telling me his life story, he tells it in a very direct way that is uninteresting. Overall, I think he’s over hyped.” 

“He makes entirely too much sad songs, and I don’t like listening to depressing music” according to Anthony Pena, Sophomore 

A lot of people like to hate Rod Wave’s music, but he is the only rapper to have a number one album not once, not twice, but three times. In 2021, 2022, and 2023! That’s three consecutive years. Rod Wave is one of the most successful rappers of our generation. 

 His music has purpose. It isn’t just about “nonsense” and the gang/street life, he helps people get through their depression without them even noticing. 

“Rod Wave is an amazing artist because his lyrics come from the heart. He puts the way most people are feeling into a song and adds catchy beats for everyone to enjoy. Most are too scared to express how they are feeling and keep it bottled up, but Rod says everything you are feeling and more, so you don’t feel so alone. Rod is also an extremely humble artist, which makes it so much better, and his concerts feel like home. Hundreds of people in a room singing on the top of their lungs, healing together without the pressure of others being in their business” says Nevaeh Jones, Senior 

“Rod Wave is a good artist, and he has morals unlike a lot of these new rappers” says Renaja Rolle, Sophomore.
