It is officially December and Christmas is slowly creeping around the corner. That cold minty breeze is starting to become present. As this holiday approaches, many students are stressing over what they should buy for their friends.
Family members are easy to shop for but according to research, students find it almost impossible to shop for their friends. Sophomore Edward Marcisak has stated, “I never know what to get my friends to be honest. I’ve known some of them since middle school and they’re still hard to shop for.”
What is with all this stress? Well, if you find yourself having trouble during this holiday season, here are gift ideas that may help with your predicament. Keep in mind, it all depends on who you are shopping for and what they like.
#1: New Shoes
Have you ever opened a new pair of shoes and felt some kind of comfort? Well, it turns out, you are not alone. This gift is pretty much a universal gift for everyone. Everyone loves to open a new pair of shoes on Christmas, or any day for that matter. You might want to be careful with this one if your friend is a huge shoe collector.
“I’m looking forward to getting new Converse for Christmas. I love when I get shoes for Christmas in general,” junior Lia Thomas said.
Shoes may not seem like an interesting gift, yet strangely enough, a bunch of teenagers are into getting new ones, whether it’s slides, crocs, or sneakers. Shoes are definitely a great gift for Christmas and should be put on some kind of list you might have stored in your notes app.
#2: Headphones
Everyone loves music and loves listening to that said music in public. Most teenagers might have their AirPods basically glued into their ears, but headphones are cool too and it would be nice to have a backup plan in case those tiny AirPods end up lost. There are many different kinds of headphones.
It doesn’t have to be expensive, just find the right pair that matches the style of whoever the gift is for. For example, if they wear bright or vibrant colors you might want to consider gifting them headphones that correspond with those colors.
Headphones are also currently making a comeback. Some teens can be seen rocking them while jamming out to their favorite songs on a loop.
#3: Gift Cards
Studies report that gift cards are the safest gift option for someone who truly doesn’t know what to get. The best gift card option would probably be Visa, so they could shop anywhere they’d like. Visa gift cards are extremely popular with teenagers because they have the freedom to shop for something that they will actually enjoy.
You will not have to worry about if your friend might like the gift or not. You won’t have to worry about providing a receipt with the gift. So whatever they buy, is all on them.
“I would much rather get a gift card. I personally love online shopping and ordering things,” junior Sammy Gomez said.
Online shopping is another reason why this is a perfect gift for teenagers. This generation is obsessed with technology and I think everyone has a bit of an online shopping addiction so a gift card would be the perfect gift.
#4: Make a Playlist
Lastly, If you are cheap like most teenagers at our school, making a playlist could be a very genuinely nice gift to give. Though it doesn’t cost you anything, it’s heartfelt and shows you were thinking of the person when you made it. The playlist can be of songs the person enjoys or maybe songs that remind you of them.
If you are considering the headphones idea, this could be a cool extra gift to go along with it. They will be able to use their new headphones that YOU got them to listen to a playlist that YOU made for them. That idea seems pretty amazing.
Laugh at the idea now but when Christmas comes around and you haven’t got a gift for that person just yet, you’ll be happy that you read this article all the way through.
