With the Kansas City Chiefs defeating the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in Super Bowl LVIII, the Kansas City Chiefs are trying to make a dynasty and go for a three-peat and become one of the best dynasties to ever happen. But, with the new offseason trades, signs, and new teams, who knows if the Chiefs are going to get a three-peat.
Teams are tired of losing and letting the Chiefs keep winning. Many teams during this offseason decided to make big moves and sign and trade some big-time superstars in the NFL.
The Philadelphia Eagles, who are in the NFC East division, made some big moves this offseason. They got rising star Wide Receiver Jahan Dotson who had 49 receptions, 518 yards, and 4 touchdowns last year. Jahan will be a key factor in helping out the stars on offense like A.J. Brown, Devonte Smith, and star QB Jalen Hurts. Also, they signed one of, if not the best Running Back in the league, Saquon Barkley who had 247 attempts, 962 rushing yards, 6 touchdowns, and 41 receiving yards. Those are two elite weapons on offense that can help take them all the way to the Super Bowl if they stay healthy.
Another team that had an outstanding offseason was the Houston Texans who are in the AFC South division, they went onwentwith them going on a good run in the playoffs last year with their star rookie QB CJ Stroud and up- and- coming rookie wide receiver Tank Dell, they knew they had to make some moves this offseason to step up and win it all, and that’s what they did. Acquiring star Pro Bowler receiver Stefon Diggs, who had an outstanding season with 107 receptions, 1,183 yards and 8 touchdowns. It gets even better for the Texans as they traded for running back Joe Mixon who had 257 attempts, 1,034 rushing yards, 9 touchdowns, and 52 receiving yards. If this team can mesh in a short matter of time and build their chemistry, this team could be a problem for the AFC division and the whole league.
“I don’t think the Chiefs win it again this year, with what the Ravens, Eagles and Texans did in this offseason, I think another team will take the throne this upcoming season.” Said Brooklyn Cannon, sophomore.
Another team who had a great offseason and is looking to bounce back after a short run is the Baltimore Ravens of the AFC East. The Baltimore Ravens lost to the Cincinnati Bengals 17-24 in the NFL wild card round last year and were devastated after they had a good regular season, and the star QB Lamar Jackson won league MVP last season. So this offseason they went and got a top 3 running back in the league Derrick Henry who had 280 attempts, 1,167 rushing yards, 12 touchdowns, and 28 receiving yards. Henry is an elite weapon on offense in all aspects.
“I love Miami and really hope they’re going to win this season since we just got Odell Beckham Jr. but I think the Chiefs are gonna do a three-peat.” Jaden Diaz, football player, sophomore.
Everyone has been hyping up this new upcoming NFL season with all the new signings and trades in the offseason, this season could be a very shocking season for everyone.
