The community’s development is expanding every day. From 1963 to 2024 Coral Springs has grown a lot. Coral Springs has been known to promote safe neighborhoods. Coral Springs also has a mixture of an urban and suburban feel with a lot of restaurants, shops, and parks. The major growth of our city started in the 70s, 80s, and 90s, and added 35,000 residents each decade.
As the city has grown, so has its infrastructure. Popular roads and highways, like the Sawgrass Expressway, have been expanded to accommodate increased traffic. Public transportation options have also been developed, though the city remains car-dependent. Currently 300 residential units and almost 20,000 square feet of commercial space and land where Coral Springs Hall once stood. The city of Coral Springs also plans to redevelop the village square; it will include grocery, retail, restaurants, and entertainment.
The Mayor of Coral Springs, Julia Krolak says, ” We are focused on shaping what the next 60 years will look like for the city.” The City Village project includes the redevelopment of Village Square and two city-owned parcels to the west. The downtown of Coral Springs includes a high-end grocer, residential units, and more opportunities for living, working, and playing sports. This can disrupt traffic on the way to and from school or work, with everyone trying to leave at once.
Despite urbanization, Coral Springs has maintained a commitment to keeping green spaces and parks. The city has numerous parks and recreational areas, which serve as a reverse to the urban development of one famous park in Coral Springs is ‘Mullins Park’ which is where every 4th of July fireworks are shot in the air. Coral Springs has a Comprehensive Plan that sets goals, policies, and standards for managing growth and delivering services. Coral Springs is 7 percent of Broward County. As part of its urban planning, Coral Springs has been involved in efforts, including water conservation programs and improving energy efficiency.

Global warming is likely to reach 1.5°C between 2030 and 2052, and approximately 3°C in 2100 based on current national government commitments.”
