With the NFL season just one day away, fans from all around the nation are getting ready to watch the season opener and this new season. This year’s season opener for the 2024-25 NFL season is the Baltimore Ravens and the 2 time-defending Super Bowl Champions, the Kansas City Chiefs.
With the Chiefs coming off a winning season after running through everyone in the playoffs and going back to back, they’re looking to make a dynasty, win a 3-peat, and become the best franchise in all NFL history. The Kansas City Chiefs just got the fastest player in the draft, maybe the fastest player of all time with the 28th pick in round 1, Xavier Worthy. Xavier Worthy is a key factor and could be special with the Chiefs with the coaches and mentors they have. Xavier Worthy had 75 receptions, a career-high 1014 yards, and a total of 5 touchdowns in his last year of college football. Also, the Chiefs got Juju Smith Schuster. Juju Smith Schuster had 29 receptions, 260 yards, and 1 touchdown last season with the Patriots. They also have the best Tight End in the league Travis Kelce. Travis Kelce had 93 receptions, 984 yards, and 5 touchdowns last season.
On the other hand, this team wants vengeance and is looking to bounce back after a short run, the Baltimore Ravens of the AFC East. The Baltimore Ravens lost to the Cincinnati Bengals 17-24 in the NFL wild-card round last year and were devastated after they had a good regular season and the star QB Lamar Jackson won league MVP last season. So this offseason they went and got a top 3 running back in the league Derrick Henry who had 280 attempts, 1,167 rushing yards, 12 touchdowns, and 28 receiving yards. Henry is an elite weapon on offense in all aspects.
With all of the offseason moves and preparation for this season, there are many unexpected things that could happen this season. I believe the Ravens will beat the Chiefs 34-31 tomorrow.
“The game was super intense and back and forth the whole time. I wanted the Ravens to win, I think Isaiah Likely was in and it should’ve counted.” Natalia Lopez, a sophomore.
The Kansas City Chiefs beat the Baltimore Ravens, 27-20 with a back-and-forth game the whole time. Derrick Henry scored the first touchdown of the game with a 5-yard rushing touchdown. Lamar Jackson had a passing completion rating of 63.4% and threw for 273 yards and 1 touchdown.
“Really wish the toe tap counted and the Ravens won, the refs cheated.” Konnor Cappiello, a junior.
Patrick Mahomes had a passing completion rating of 71.4% and threw for 291 yards,1 touchdown, and 1 interception. The standout player for the Kansas City Chiefs was Xavier Worthy who had 2 receptions, 47 receiving yards, and 2 touchdowns. The rookie stood out and definitely made an impact for the Chiefs and helped them lead to victory.
