Have you ever heard of the saying “who you hang around with is who you become”? It’s a fact because what we do and who we know influences us more than anything. The people that you put yourself around you affect what you do.
The group that you keep around you is a representation of who you are. Is who you spend time with who you want to become? ”You see it in other people like your friends, by the way, they talk, their attitude, by the way, they act towards you and other people. Even the way they dress, and how they also influence people in a wrong way”, says Andrea Davila.
If you have a friend who envies you and doesn’t want to see you succeed or do better than them, distance yourself from that person and enclose yourself with people who will hold you to a bigger standard so you can become the person you want to be. If you surround yourself with people that often complain or are lazy and procrastinate you will also find yourself usually doing those same things that give off negative habits.
Now if you spend time with people who are motivated and aware of health, you will also do those similar habits, exercising, and eating healthy. The people who you are with can either bring you up or bring you down the energy that they give off can be contagious. If you are feeling lost or feeling stuck. Look around, and see who you are hanging out with. If you are not hanging out with anyone, that is an opportunity for you to start finding people that you know will help positively influence you.
Energy is contagious, it takes a toll on the decisions that you make and the action that you take defines who you are. You are in control, be proactive, and surround yourself with people you admire because their behavior and attitude that helped them do well will help you see those close results in your life.”
Tell me who you hang out with and I’ll tell you who you are. People can influence good things and bad things. Hang out with people who make you grow. I think that if you hang out with people that don’t have the same values as you they will influence their bad things. You have to influence others not others influence you”, says Martha Coronel.
Another example is if you are with people who lie you will also find yourself lying. If you are with people who gossip you will also find yourself talking bad about others. Or if you hang around with runners you will become one, hang around with readers you will become one, hang around with winners you will become one. You can win more when you surround yourself with winners.
