On September 15th, the New Orleans Saints faced the Dallas Cowboys. The game was held in the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The AT&T Stadium can hold 80,000 people in seats or 105,000 with standing room. The stadium is home to the Dallas Cowboys.
This was the second game of the season for both teams as they both came into the game 1-0. To start the game, the New Orleans Saints began with the ball and came up with a touchdown. Alvin Kamara opens the game with a 5-yard rushing touchdown with 10 minutes to go in the first quarter. The Dallas Cowboys answered back 6 minutes later with a 52-yard field goal by Brandon Aubrey. The 1st quarter seemed over but Derek Carr threw a 70-yard pass to Rashid Shaheed to put them up 14-3.
The Cowboys started with the ball in the second quarter and had to settle with a 38-yard field goal made by Brandon Aubrey. The game felt repetitive with Alvin Kamara scoring another touchdown but this time a 57-yard pass from Derek Carr. The score moves up to 21-6 New Orleans. Then CeeDee Lamb steps up and catches a 65-yard pass from Dak Prescott for a touchdown. 21-13. After this, the Saints pulled away scoring two straight touchdowns. One from Alvin Kamara (third touchdown of the game) and a Derek Carr rushing touchdown. The score is now 35-13 with 39 seconds to go in the first half. The Dallas Cowboys pushed the ball down the field to get in field goal range. Brandon Aubrey attempts a 48-yarder and nails it, getting the score to 35-16.
The rest of the game was pretty slow as the New Orleans Saints kept their lead. Brandon Aubrey makes his fourth field goal of the game and makes the game 35-19. Alvin Kamara scores his fourth touchdown of the game with a 7-yard run to end the 3rd quarter 41-19. I asked Gavin Reed (a student at Coral Glades) if the Cowboys can come back and defend their 16-game home winning streak and he said, “The Cowboys are gonna lose this game and lose the long winning streak.” He was correct.
The Saints go to score another touchdown and seal the game-winning 44-19. Many fans were shocked by this demanding win by the Saints. Ethan Jean-Louis a student says, “I was really looking forward to watching this game because I am a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys, but they really disappointed me and they lost their 16-game winning streak.” The Saints are now 2-0 and #1 in their conference. The Cowboys on the other hand are 1-1 #3 in their conference.
