Have you heard the news? All our favorite foods are getting recalled. This is a shock to most Americans. Many of the foods we are used to eating and enjoy so much are now bad for us. A food most of us grew up eating like noodles, beef, chicken, and hotdogs are now recalled and unsafe for us to consume now.
Around the world, many people are getting sick from eating these foods. From the young to the old no one is escaping getting sick. These illnesses are affecting older people and younger kids the most. It’s also affecting people who are pregnant and who have weak immune systems. There have been reports that the bacteria found in these foods are attacking their bodies without any symptoms, when the symptoms do occur it’s too late the bacteria has already attacked the body.
There have been cases where they have found broken glass and fragments of metal and plastic in these foods. Foods we have been eating for years now are all of a sudden becoming contaminated with bacteria and other materials. This is making me wonder if the foods we once loved will be safe to eat again.
We don’t know as of yet when these foods will be safe to eat again so for right now it’s best to avoid them. This should be spread around the world on ads, build boards, and be the head of news articles. Everyone should know not to eat these foods, many people don’t know about these recalls and are getting sick left and right because of it. The CDC should make more of an effort to inform the public about these products. Stores should also help by not selling these products or even warning consumers about the dangers of the products.
I feel like this is a good way to inform consumers about the potential risks they find eating these foods, says Teja Rolle senior.
However, stores are not going to warn consumers about the risks of buying and eating these products because they want to make all the money they can. Even if it’s killing their customers or badly injuring them. It’s also our duty as consumers to read the news to see what’s going on in the world, you can find all you need to know just by a quick Google search.
After talking to some classmates of mine there’s what they have to say about their favorite foods being recalled, I feel like the world is changing more and more each day and it’s hard to keep up with all the changes that’s happening. That’s why it’s important to keep watching the news and reading articles to know what’s going on in the world, says Cole Fisher, junior.
