Remember the date October 18th, 2024. That is the day Coral Glades played their rivals
J.P. Taravella in the swamp bowl, the outcome was crazy. Coral Glades beat Taravella 35-0, not letting Taravella even get close to the endzone, Glades dominating the other team was not the only fun thing; the crowd was also very involved.
According to Cole Fisher, “The game was really fun and my personal favorite of the year. I loved how the weather felt there was a light breeze so it was not hot but I also liked how everyone in the crowd was involved in the game when a big play happened and how everyone was wearing the color black.” The weather was very nice which added a nice feel to the game. Usually, it is hot and moist at the football games but since it was not, the game was more enjoyable.
The game started off pretty slow but late in the 4th quarter Coral Glades scored and the game started to speed up they scored again in the 2nd quarter making the score 14-0 at the end of the half. During halftime, the Coral Glades coach must have given a really good pep talk to his players because coming out they scored right away and once again in the same corner extending the lead to 28-0. Lately, the fourth quarter had started and the students were hoping to see some pushback from Taravella but it never came. Coral Glades scored one last time making the final score 35-0 with another Coral Glades victory, extending their record to 3-5 and Tarevlla’s record to 0-7.
Daniel Burton Junior says, “This game was super enjoyable since we finally won a game we usually lose but it is even better that we won vs our rival Tarvella it is not surprising though since Taravella is horrible we have beaten them a total of six time in six years we are just a better team in my opinion. Even though it was a blowout since the other team was not that good, the crowd made my money that I spent on the game worth it since everyone was getting hype which I enjoyed a lot since my friends were getting loud which they don’t do a lot.’’
Charlotte Lanzi says, “I loved how the Swamp bowl went due to the number of people that attended the game there were a lot of Coral Glades students compared to other games there was also a big amount of Taravella students at the game, which made the game intense, I can not wait till next year my senior year for our next and my last swamp bowl.”
Overall the swamp was a great experience for the players and the students with the outcome being another win for the Coral Glades Jaguars the season is still going on with playoffs coming right around the quarter.
