Recently, Donald Trump was in the news, again. This time for something that caught the entire internet by surprise, that being Donald J. Trump, a 78-year-old, former president and presidential candidate billionaire, working at McDonald’s.
This didn’t just blow up, it had a nuclear reaction from the internet. A whole trove of reactions, memes, and commentaries lit up the front page of social media platforms and the legacy news alike.
Now, the feedback to the political stunt was actually extremely positive. However, while Trump was serving fries in a Pennsylvania McDonalds, the Harris campaign went on the offensive to clamp down on all the free press that Trump was getting.
The Harris campaign quickly responded with Kamala saying that she too had worked at Mcdonald’s, specifically the deep fryer, that is when she was a student. However, the McDonald’s corporation said it had no record of her ever working there, but would be open to her working then just like Trump had.
The Harris campaign had also secured the support of one, Lizzo. During Lizzo’s supportive speech for Kamala, Trump had said that the Democrats wanted to make the nation like Detroit, something that Lizzo attacked him for.
Lizzo said that “They say if Kamala wins, the whole country will be like Detroit.” Then she went on to say “I’m so proud to be from Detroit. They say if Kamala Harris wins, the whole country will be like Detroit. Proud like Detroit. Resilient like Detroit. The same Detroit that innovated the auto industry and the music industry. Put some respect on Detroit’s name…”
Then a bit after this, Kamala came out and said that new information from Donald Trump’s former chief of staff, John Kelly, had just said that Donald Trump, during his presidency, said he “Wanted generals that Adolf Hitler had.”
Now, the validity of this statement is currently under question, considering a lot of people seem to find it unbelievable. The question being asked is, how can someone forget something huge like that for 5 years and then only bring it up now?
The final move by the Harris Campaign was by the once again supporting President, Joe Biden. He recently said that “We gotta lock him up … politically lock him up. Lock him out. That’s what we have to do.“ The Vice President did not comment on this.
As always, it’s important to ask what people thought of a political stunt such as this. The question was, “What do you think of Donald Trump working at McDonalds?” Braydon Sloboda 11th grade “I just saw on TikTok memes where it was like, put the fries in the bag.” Then there was Kaden Davis in the 11th grade who said “Isn’t Trump like a millionaire, why was he working at McDonalds, unless it was for a public thing then I can see why he would do that.”
As of October 10th, 2024, the election is 12 days away, on November 5th. With the election season essentially over, unless there is some major switch up with one of the candidates, this election may just be up to the swing states, like here in Florida. If there’s anything to say, it’s you should either go out and vote or encourage someone to vote, express your God-given rights.
