When picking what path you decide to go down after high school is it better to go to a college or go to trade school? Both of these paths are a great choice since they are setting up your future but they both have a lot of differences.
To begin with, let’s talk about college first. The experience is way different from the trade schools. At college, you will experience parties, school-related sports games, and other things. It is also a great way to meet new people. For example, you can join a frat or a sorority where you will get to know people closely and most likely be friends with some of them your whole life. I am not saying you can’t do this at trade school but you have a higher chance of meeting more people at college since there are more people which gives more room for error if you’re not good at meeting new people.
The amount of time you need to go down each path is different at trade schools. The time you need to be there is from 8 months to 2 years compared to college where it can be anything from 2 years to 8 which is a big difference. At trade school people study to be electricians, plumbers, welders, carpenters, and more. The great part of going to trade school is that most of those careers need people so getting a job won’t be that hard if you know what you’re doing.
Alexandrea Oday, a junior, says, ‘’My father went to trade school for a couple of years and he says it was a great choice since now he owns his own company he told me if I’m willing to take my time someday I can go to trade school learn what I need to learn about ac and run the company I can’t wait’.”
Cooper Yellin, a junior, stated, “My dream is to make it into the University of Florida. Both my brothers and my father have attended the university and now it’s up to me to finish the lineage. But if some don’t get into trade school it would not be a second choice. There are many career paths that I’m interested in like being a plumber. ”
A benefit of attending college rather than trade school is the experience and relationships you make when you play college sports. You get close to your teammates and coaches sometimes, even the crowd.
At the end of the day, it does not matter which path you pick because both college and trade school lead to a better future for younger generations and provide higher education that most job opportunities and careers require so it is a great choice to go to either.
