Seasonal breaks like Thanksgiving, Winter, and Spring break are the most eventful parts of the year for most students and staff workers at school because they get a break from school and work. Not only is it fun to get away from school, but in many ways, the breaks are beneficial to everyone who takes part of it.
The first break of the school year is Thanksgiving break, and that is coming up pretty soon. Especially for Thanksgiving and Christmas break, students need to spend time with families without any interruptions or having any work to do. The same thing for teachers and staff.
Spending time with family is a big part of everyone’s life and that would not happen as much if there was not a Thanksgiving or Christmas break that allows them to have the time to plan fun events and activities.
Those activities are another benefit of breaks because with the amount of schoolwork high schoolers have, it can take away from the time they have to enjoy themselves and hang out with friends and family.
Thankfully, Winter break is a longer break because there are quite a few holidays that take place. Spending these holidays in school would not be very pleasing, so having a break for them helps people enjoy the holidays better. The beginning of winter break is also the end of the first semester, which is pretty big considering students have been at it for eighteen weeks. Having a break in between semesters helps students catch a breath and reload to continue their hard work.
“Winter break is one of the best breaks ever because we’ve all been working so hard for 4 months and we definitely do deserve a break before we start the next semester.” Said Aaliyah O’Keefe, a freshman.
Spring break is another one-week break, however, it still brings the same benefits for everyone. This is another chance for students to take a break even if it is a short one, and spend more time with family and friends to improve their well-being and productivity.
“Having breaks really helps me take time for myself and rest, and then when I start feeling up to it I can be productive and spend more time doing the hobbies that I enjoy without having to worry about schoolwork that needs to be done.” Said Rihanna Edwards, a freshman.
While summer begins at the end of the school year, it is still very important for summer break to happen because it would be impossible for students and school staff workers to keep going with school without a nice and long seasonal break in between.
