Many seniors stress about the college they are going to go to. This isn’t necessary because, for the first year or two, you are doing prereqs for the major you picked. This means that if you didn’t do well in high school you can fix it.
When you get into college you get a new GPA this is a new start for everyone. This means that if you go to a community college for your prereqs you can still go to the university you want and you save money.
If you realize too late that you want to go to a competitive college and your stats don’t match the school it will be okay. Many seniors realize too late how important their past years were.
Colleges are getting way more competitive this year especially. The class of 2025 is a competitive class and the students are very smart this year. That makes it harder for students who may just have average grades.
Quote from Sarah Singh a senior “ I am excited to go to a 4 year university but that doesn’t define me as a person if I chose a different path I would still have the same outcome but a 4 year university is the right choice for me personally.”
Every person has a path that they should follow. Some people want to work while they attend a community college because they want to earn more money before attending a university. College in general is expansive.
People have the opportunity to get FAFSA and scholarships and most of the time community colleges give you money to go there. This is a smart choice to make especially if you are going to have a job where you have to go to school after getting your college degree.
A quote from Jewel Dezard “ I have worked hard all 4 years of high school and I feel a university is the best fit for me since I am majoring in Biology and I already have college credits so a university will be the best fit for me.”
For me, a 4-year university is what I want. I personally want to go to Florida State University. I went on a college tour last year and I fell in love with the school. I want to be a dentist so I am going to major in Biomedical sciences and I feel this school is what I want.
No choice defines who you are because in the end, you will still have the same outcome a college degree in the major you choose
This is why picking the right path for college or anything else you chose to do after high school doesn’t define you.
