As the holidays are approaching we all have plans to spend time with the people we love the most. All around the world people are celebrating the holidays differently whether it’s with family and friends or even just by themselves. This is the time of year most of us look forward to celebrating, you get to see all the family members you haven’t seen since the year before. You get to catch up with them telling them about all the new and exciting things you have done throughout the year.

We all celebrate the holidays differently which makes it special to each of us. For many the normal way of celebrating the holidays is by traveling out of town to go to family members’ houses. Or even having the family gathering at your house, either way, this is considered the normal and best way to celebrate the holidays.

But as things change over the years the holidays may start to look different for most of us whether it’s because money is tight this year and you can’t travel to see your family members or even if you just don’t have the money to have the gathering at your house. With all the different changes going on in the world, we need to find ways to make the most of these situations.

There are many ways you can have the holiday you have also looked forward to, instead of spending money on traveling to see family members for just one to two days you can do a video call. This would allow you to catch up with all the new and big things going on in their life and still save money.

You can still eat with them around the table, you would just do it on a video call. In the end, you can save and still be able to see your favorite family members and eat with them. In the end, it sounds like a great idea. Although this wouldn’t be the way I thought I would celebrate the holidays, it does sound like something I would enjoy, says Willam Miller, freshman.

If the sound of having to do a video call to celebrate the holidays doesn’t sound like something you would do that’s fine, there are other ways you can still see your family members and still save money at the same time. By road tripping, this can be a way to get to know your family better, a long car ride to just talk, laugh, and think about all the fun times you had as a kid. I like the idea of a road trip with all my favorite cousins. This would be a time where we update each other on what’s going on in our lives and to just have fun in each other’s presence, says Elizabeth Woodring, freshman.
