Failure is a part of life; whether a simple or complicated task. However, most people forget failure is okay.
With social media and technology, it’s easy to forget that building such an accessible platform did not come without its hardships. Many of the top platforms had their beginnings, each unique and challenging.
Ultimately, it was worth it to start since it is unknown. But, most people freak out at the unknown, or rather, the concept. If someone does not know what comes next, they may question whether or not it’s worth it to pursue. A task blinding many from greatness.
However, all it is is a leap of faith. Faith can bring someone far, especially from humble beginnings. They may not know what happens next, but it’s the beauty of it. To mess up, over and over till one is happy with their final product.
Students especially take note of this. Due to peer pressure, social media, and self doubts many, not all, have it is rather scary to start. It feels as if one may want to skip to the end. But, in the end, no one would be happy. At least, of their progress.
The reward of achieving a task may be one thing, but the journey is another. The journey is enough for anyone to be happy. High schoolers when they first come to high school don’t realize just how fast time can go by. In that time, there is a choice. To be or not to be who one may want to be.
Life is meant for the person living it. If fear held one back, no one would be happy. For discovery would not have been made. Progress is human evolution, the evolution of talent and the mind. A mind that passes for generations. In fact, students share their stories of progress throughout high school; whether they have started, in the middle, or near the end.
“Adversity has led me to where I am today by making me more confident in who I am by being able to relate to others on social media platforms.” Reese Ginesin, a junior, talked about her progress in confidence gained through adversity and how she uses it now.
“I’d say that adversity as you said makes us who we are and betters us as people. I think that it helped me for the better because without it I wouldn’t have been able to grow.” William Koehler, a sophomore, makes a direct and personal statement about his progress through adversity.
Action is hard for anyone to take. Fear is strong, it may be able to strike and start anywhere. However, all it takes is one day to start a lifetime.
