With the 2025 NBA Lottery Draft ending today, a worldwide shocker just happened that could possibly shake up the entire NBA organization with what happened today.
Mainly, the worst 14 teams in the NBA are put in a bowl and randomly selected by the NBA Deputy Commissioner Mark Tatum to determine the draft order from 1 through 14 for the upcoming draft.
“It’s absolutely insane that the Mavericks got the first overall pick. They had a 1.8% chance of getting the first pick. The Mavericks can do anything with that pick; they can trade it for a superstar, or they can even draft the best prospect since Lebron. The Mavericks can’t mess this up at all, there’s literally no wrong move for them.” Ethan Jean-Louis, sophomore.
Now, the Miami Heat had the projected 11th pick going into next year’s draft;, however, because the Miami Heat ended up making the playoffs, that projected 11th overall pick ended up going to the Dallas Mavericks. The Dallas Mavericks had a 1.8% chance ofin getting the 1st Overall Pick, but as other teams were being selected before the Mavericks and as Mark Tatum got closer and closer to the number 1 pick, those odds of the Mavericks getting the number 1 pick got bigger and bigger.
The Mavericks ended up jumping 10 spots and ending up with the number 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA draft, which means they might’ve just landed the best prospect since Lebron James.,
Cooper Flagg.
“I just can’t believe that the Mavs got the first pick, the Dallas Mavericks are going all the way next year 1000% if no one gets hurt.” Jacob Hines, junior.
The 6’10 Duke Freshman had one of the best freshman seasons in College Basketball, winning AP player of the year, national player of the year, national freshman of the year, ACC player of the year, and many more accolades. NBA fans, MBA scouts, analysts, coaches, and others are comparing this young phenom to the next upcoming Lebron. Flagg can do everything on the floor, and his project to go to Dallas is shaking the entire league up. As he would pair up with 4x NBA champion Klay Thompson, 1x NBA champion,
10x NBA All-Star, 4x All-NBA NBA 1st-Team1st, 1st-Team Anthony Davis, and 1x NBA champion, 9x NBA All-Star, 2012 NBA ROTY, Kyrie Irving is a very, and I mean very, scary team to go up against
If these awesome, talented, all-star-level players pair up this upcoming season, and they can stay healthy, who knows what we’re in for this upcoming NBA season?
