We all go to school for one simple reason: to learn. There are dozens of subjects that we get educated on almost daily. These subjects include mathematics, language arts, history, and science. These are the subjects that we learn to help prepare ourselves for the future, whether it comes to getting the right job or paying taxes.
Along with the main courses, there are also electives (for middle and high school students) that can serve not only as fun classes but also help build a more creative future. These electives include, but are not limited to, arts and crafts, chorus, culinary arts, and robotics. All these classes are good in their own sense, but which one of these subjects reigns supreme?
Now, when people are talking about the best subject in school, they tend to look at which one is the most fun or interactive, which would lead them to science because of experiments, as others would look at the material they teach and which one is the easiest to understand, which is where they would go to English. Some kids might choose mathematics because of the challenges it presents in the curriculum, while others would choose history because of its inherent interest in learning about the past.
As for the electives, most people like Art because of the creativity it contains, while others prefer music courses, such as Chorus and Orchestra, due to their love for the music realm. Other electives, such as Computer Science, Robotics, and TV Production, are definitely at the top for the technical students who have a bright future in the world of technology. Culinary Arts is a great way to teach students how to cook for themselves, and World Language classes such as Spanish and Sign Language offer students the chance to learn words from a whole new perspective.
We decided to ask a couple of students what they thought would be the overall better subject. 12th grader Giovany Rotto said, “Guitar because I can make my own rhythms.” Guitar is a fun subject to learn, and I have a feeling most other people would agree, especially music kids. Junior Lorenzo Carbocci presented an answer that I did not expect anyone to answer. He says, “My favorite subject is Study Hall because I can chill and hang out with friends.” That is a great point, but how many people really consider Study Hall as a subject?
All of these are great points, but personally, I think they should all be taken into consideration. You would need to pick a subject that is fun, interactive, easy for you to understand, and intriguing to the mind. Which is why I personally think the best subject is Math. To me, Math is surprisingly the easiest for me to understand, and I tend to have fun with it when I’m solving problems. What about you? What do you think is the best school subject of all time?
