Somerset Academy Riverside Charter School is getting ready for its 4th Annual Fall Festival, expected Saturday, October 11, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the school field at 2251 Riverside Drive. The annual tradition has become a tradition of the fall season for students, families, and the community, and this year’s event is set to be one of the biggest ones yet.
An important feature of the festival is its expanded food truck lineup. Popular local vendors, including Tulum Taco, Steve’s Woodfire Pizza, 4 Corners Cafe, Kona Ice, Churro Bar, and Giardino Gourmet Salads, will offer a wide variety of food and drinks for attendees. With numerous options, festivalgoers will be able to enjoy a diverse mix of savory dishes and sweet treats throughout the day. Families often make it a tradition to try different vendors together, turning lunch into part of the fun.
In addition to food, the event will contain carnival-style games, family-friendly attractions, and classic festival activities. From bounce houses and inflatable slides to raffles and hands-on activities, there will be many opportunities for both kids and adults to have fun. Planning for the Fall Festival begins months in advance, with staff and volunteers working to help organize vendors, attractions, and sponsors to ensure the event runs smoothly. The careful preparation allows the festival to continue growing, in both popularity and each year.
Some students like Silvio Martinez (10) have said that “The Fall Festival really brings everyone together; it’s something students and families look forward to all year,”. “It’s a fun way to support a school while spending time with friends and families,” added Tacorio Miller (11).
The festival is not just about fun and entertainment; it also serves as Somerset Academy’s largest fundraiser of the year. The earnings from this event directly support students’ important programs and incentives. Funds raised help provide rewards for FAST tastings, graduation celebrations, special lunches, i-ready recognition, and other student-focused activities. The community’s support makes a lasting difference for the school, while families and students enjoy a day with laughter, games, and connections.
Over the years, the festival has also gained attention from city members, with commissioners and the mayor of Coral Springs attending in support of the Somerset community. The event emphasizes the strong bond between the school and city, supporting the importance of shared traditions and partnerships that go beyond just a classroom.
Pre-sale entry is available for $5 per student, with attraction tickets costing $1 each. Attractions typically require two to five tickets to participate. General Admission tickets will also be sold at the door on the day of the festival. Families are encouraged to arrive early to help and avoid long lines. With food, games, entertainment, and community spirit, this year the Fall Festival will be one to remember.
