Apple is one of the most valuable and popular companies in the world. The company has earned $3.86 trillion in the 48 years it has been in service. Apple is so rich that it is the third biggest and most valuable company in the world.
The company was started by Steve Jobs, and in 2007, he revolutionized the world of tech by creating what he liked to call the iPhone. The product attracted millions of fans immediately, and as of 2025, it is now on its 17th installment of the iPhone, with 8 generations of AirPods, 4 generations of MacBooks, and more. Although thousands to even millions of people have claimed that Apple is just a scam and that Samsung, a cheaper option, is much better, that begs the question: Are Apple products good, or are they just a dumb internet trend?
Due to Apple’s huge net worth, it is obvious that it would become popular. The new generation of kids is going to get to know Apple better than other phones, such as Samsung and Google Pixel. Approximately 49 to 58 percent of people in America own an iPhone, and 24 percent of people in the world own one, which is a huge chunk of the population. Clearly, if so many people are purchasing these phones, they have redeeming qualities to prove that they are worth buying, right?
I asked Freshman Cameron Pascoe about his phone and why he likes Apple, and he said, “I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max, and I dropped it 3 levels down an apartment building, and it did not break.” These iPhones must be durable to survive a fall like that, right? Unfortunately, no. Pascoe’s phone had a very strong case attached to it, so that is what broke its fall.
I then asked Senior Aidan Ceclair why he started using Apple products, and he said, “Because they are the best products to use and last long, and are most efficient.” Ceclair claims that the products are long-lasting and are some of the best on the market, while others say the battery life is terrible and they don’t have as many features as they wanted.
People claim that the new iPhone doesn’t even work as good as the new Samsung, and others claim that the iPhones break way easier than the Samsung. People on the internet, such as famous YouTuber ‘JerryRigsEverything’, make videos destroying products to test their durability, and the majority of the time, the iPhone breaks more easily than when he breaks a Samsung.
I think that iPhones are overrated. My brother owns an iPhone, and I have a Samsung. My phone can do things that his phone cannot do unless he installs something, while mine is built into the software. But hey, I am not here to bring anyone down from what they like, and if you have an iPhone that you like, then go ahead and use it. What do you think? Do you think Apple products are worth the hype and money?
