New Teachers and Students at Coral Glades High

This 2023-2024 school year, we have new teachers, staff, and a lot of new students, The class of 2028, came from Middle School to our school to keep their studies and get ready for the future. Some students, teachers, and staff were interviewed and told us how they felt at Coral Glades High School.

Thelmo Mendez, a 9th-grade student, came from Sawgrass Springs Middle School, his favorite classes so far are Algebra 1 Honors, AICE Geography, and Team Sports. He speaks English, and Spanish and is learning French. “I felt very welcome here in Coral Glades High, all my teachers and classmates have been so nice and kind to me, I have so many expectations for me these 4 years that I will be here.” Said Thelmo Mendez, Freshman.

Ariana Desouza, 9th grade, came from Sawgrass Springs Middle School. She is in the Newspaper class, because she loves to write, and her favorite class is AP Geography. She speaks English and Spanish. “Everybody in Coral Glades High has been amazing with me, This week I received a schedule change and I’m very excited to attend my new classes and meet my new teachers and classmates.” Says Ariana Desouza, Freshman.

Ms. Lachance, is in her first year at Coral Glades High, She has been in different middle and high schools, and now she works at The Den, as a Library Officer with other co-workers, Some students are helping her, who belong to the teacher assistant class, her favorite things are books and reading.“These first weeks have been quite exciting, My favorite part from Coral Glades is the students, I love the way that they like to read and learn.” Said Ms.Lachance, Teacher.

Mr. Jimboy A. Alngog is an environmental science and biology teacher, This is his first year here at Coral Glades High, he came from the Philippines, he speaks his native language Filipino, and also speaks English. His favorite thing in the school is the air-conditioning because he loves being warm all day. “I’m so proud of my new students, Jaguars have a very good academic spirit to learn every day.” Says Mr.Alngog, Teacher. 

Many teachers and students who have been here since previous years are excited about the new students and teachers who entered this year. They were given a very nice welcome, we feel so proud and happy to have them here this year. Now we are going to enjoy this 2023-2024 school year and continue learning, and living the amazing moments that our schools give us.
