The exciting movie about three tennis prodigies that are faced with drama along the way, has officially made its way to theaters last Friday, April 26th. 

If you haven’t seen it already, the movie follows Tashi (Zendaya Coleman) who is a tennis player, who turned into a coach once she developed her tennis-playing husband Art (Mike Faist) into a grand slam champion. Unfortunately, Art, her husband, has been on a losing streak so Tashi makes him play in a challenger event. 

Drama stirs when Patrick (Josh O’Connor), Tashi’s ex-boyfriend, is his opponent. Tashi is now forced to watch as they face off.

On IMDB, challengers received a 7.8/10 rating and a 75% rating on rotten tomatoes. After evaluating some of these fantastic reviews, the movie seems pretty powerful. The performances by the amazing stars shocked so many. Their chemistry is the main focus of the movie.

“The movie was truly amazing. Zendaya’s character specifically stood out to me the most.” said sophomore, Layla Woods.

It was reported that the chemistry between these actors lasted throughout the whole movie. The story of the movie was told in a very effective way. The plot becomes more and more intriguing as you learn more about the backstories of the main characters. 

The cinematography was also huge and put everything together. The close-up shots during the tennis match made the scene feel intense and added depth to it as well. 

“I just went to see it with my friends last Saturday and we enjoyed it. It had good visuals which brought the whole movie together.” Priah Scott, Junior, said.

The director, Luca Guadagnino, is known for directing many masterpieces such as ‘Bones and All’, ‘Call Me by Your Name’ and ‘Suspiria’. It is no surprise that ‘Challengers’ has had an impact on watchers and received great reviews. He has created another masterpiece.

 It is highly recommended that you go to see it soon in theaters. The plot, visuals, and actors are all spectacular and you will love it!
