Our school pep rally is this Friday, 8th period in the gym, and everyone has been lined up to donate canned goods to attend. That makes sense because pep rallies are very fun, and they are a great way for students to interact with each other and maybe get out of their comfort zones for a little while. Especially for the students who don’t really involve themselves in school activities.
Students can dress up and wear their class colors which would be yellow for the seniors, green for the juniors, red for the sophomores, and blue for the freshman.
Hopefully, everyone wears their class colors, even if they are not attending the pep rally, in which a student needs to donate two items to the harvest drive in order to go. “I think we have the best class color because different colors of blue look good on everyone.” Melanie Lemus, a freshman said.
Speaking of the freshmen, since it is their first year in high school, many of the 9th graders haven’t experienced a pep rally. Most middle schools did not have any pep rallies, or the pep rallies that took place were nothing compared to high school pep rallies. So, this is another part of high school that is different but also exciting.
Students get to miss their 8th period and have fun participating in different activities and they get to watch a variety of performances. Face and body paint will also most likely be worn, and students can look forward to a color war kind of thing between the different grade levels.
Such performances as the dance team, the cheerleaders, and other clubs that have worked hard to practice the piece they will present. Other people who have worked extremely hard for all the homecoming events are the student government association members who help put mostly everything together and use their time to make sure we all have fun.
All these performances plus the activities at the pep rally are to obviously hype us up for the upcoming homecoming game on Friday later that day. It is a home game against the Stranahan Dragons at 7 pm and tickets can be found on the go fan website.
Many students have said that past pep rallies at our school have been very exciting, and they always look forward to it the following year. “I think the pep rallies are really fun, and we always have a good hype man, and it is just really fun!” Paris Crooks, a senior said.
Many people are very much looking forward to showing their school spirit at the pep rally and seeing the clubs they favor, which for some students are the dance team, and for others cheerleading.
