With only losing the first game of the season to Calvary Christian Academy just only by 6, 63-57. Since then, the team has won the last 12 games on their schedule, going on a 14-game streak. The team is playing outstanding team basketball and we haven’t seen this level of Junior Varsity basketball being played like this in a while. Last year’s Coral Glades JV basketball team ended the season just 10-5, as the team this season is already 13-1 so far in the regular season and is for sure one of the top teams in Broward County.
The team has been on a tremendous run and is killing it and dominating whoever steps in front of them. They have beaten at least 6 teams by more than 20 points, almost 10 teams. The team has amazing chemistry, knows how to play team ball well, they trust each other and they’re not just brothers on the court, but also off.
Class of 2028, Evan Turene, Joey Levi, Jaris Anacerson Adrian Guzman, Christian Colon, and Samuel Carrasco all play for Team Knight, led by head JV coach Amos Luvbin. Class of 2027 Raphael Espineira and Kendrick Hilbert both led by Assistant JV and Assistant Varsity coach Terrell Wint.
Also, Class of 2028, Javon Forrester, Jacari Wilson, Ajani Phillips, and Jaden Bennet all played with each other on Team Carnage.
The team came into the season already with great chemistry, ready to dominate.
“We’ve beaten every team by plus 20 points besides high competitive games, we are currently on a 14-game win streak with one loss to another top team in the county by 4 points in crunch time one minute left.” Evan Turene, freshman, starting Point Guard of the team.
The team isn’t just great because of these highly skilled players, it all is behind the coaching. Coach Amos, Coach Terrell, Coach Patrice, and Coach Deshawn all contribute a huge part to this successful program that’s going on right now. Without them, this team wouldn’t be as far as they would currently.
“Yes, I 100% believe so and it’s not just us being 13-1 right now it’s the amount of time and practice we’ve put in. Everyone on the team has been through the mud since July. We can match and compete with anyone from guards to bigs. We work the hardest in games and practices.” Coach Amos, Head JV coach.
With that being said, this 13-1 team is going to be facing some of the other great JV teams in Broward County like Riviera Prep, Calvary Christian Academy again, Archbishop, and possibly Palmetto.
This will be a tough challenge for the 13-1 JV Jags but, if they can get the job done, this could solidify their spot as the best JV team in Broward County.
