With Under The Sea being the theme for last year, lots of students are hoping for a better theme this year. This year’s theme will be the big New York City.
With students being disappointed in the theme last year and getting their hopes up, the Student Government Association(SGA) and Mrs. Raff are looking to make the students proud by going big this year. There are so many different decorations and ways you can make this homecoming dance better than last year. With the “Under The Sea” theme, you can only do corals, fishes, and other sea creatures for decorations. With New York as this year’s theme, you can decorate the famous Eiffel Tower, the one and only Statue Of Liberty, Times Square, Central Park, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. You can decorate with the subway, Brooklyn Bridge, cabs, and so much more. There are endless possibilities.
The theme is overall much easier to decorate and dress for. New York is very well known for fashion, so that would give students a chance to show up and show off their awesome style. As well as the photos you can take and reenact with the accessories and with the green screen being in the back. This homecoming allows students to make amazing memories you’ll never forget.
“Last year’s homecoming dance was great, but I think this year’s New York theme is going to be so much more fun.” Said Kiara Perez, a sophomore. Safe to say, this year’s homecoming will be one of the best and one not to miss.
“I’m in the Student Government Association, and with the setup for this year’s homecoming, by the looks of it, this year’s theme is going to be way better than last year.” Said Sabrina Santucci, senior.
The food can even be much better with the variety of food like pizza, hot dogs, cheesecake, you name it. “I went to last year’s homecoming and I was kind’ve disappointed and was hoping for better, but once all my friends had told me that this year’s homecoming theme is New York, I got so excited and I’m ready for this year’s homecoming.” Shawn Whoriskey, a junior.
Hopefully, those who have been to New York City already, feel like they are back for just a moment. But for those people who have never been, may they dance the night away to feel a glimpse of what it’s like in the city that never sleeps, New York City.
