The annual Candlelight Processional that fills Disney World with seasonal songs and draws thousands of holiday fans anxious to get into the Christmas spirit will return to Epcot during the first weekend of December.
Guests will be able to enjoy the Candlelight Processional at Disney each evening, according to Disney officials.
The Candlelight Processional features dozens of choir groups who gather on a stage to bring the story of Christmas to life. The annual event is attended by hundreds of community members who fill a seating area set up each holiday season in Disney World.
This Candlelight Ceremony tradition began in 1958 as a way for Walt Disney to show his gratitude to the Orange County community that was home to his first theme park, Disneyland
Disney World invited different schools from the state of Florida to participate in this event, one of the privileged ones was our school which participated with 45 students. Coral Glades High, had the opportunity to attend and represent us at the Epcot theme park, standing and showing the talent of our school.
Disney has done an incredible job welcoming schools to Orlando and allowing them to demonstrate their talent outside of school and in a recognized place that is visited by so many people daily.
It is hoped that this will only be the beginning of great achievements for the school choir class and to be recognized more and more
The students left school on Monday, December 4, to arrive at Epcot and be part of the ceremony. On Tuesday, they went to Magic Kingdom Park to celebrate this achievement of the school.
“We had an amazing time! The students did an amazing job and had a blast being able to meet John Stamos (Uncle Jessie from the hit show Full House). We were honored to represent our school in such an amazing event!” said the Coral Glades singer’s Instagram account.
